The first Editorial Board meeting of Intelligence & Robotics (IR) was successfully held online on December 7, 2021.

This meeting includes three parts: 1. Report of the journal progress by Professor Simon X. Yang; 2. Introduction of the journal’s peer-review policy by OAE Publisher Lijun Jin; 3. Meeting summary and acknowledgment.

In the first part of the meeting, Professor Simon X. Yang presented the 2021 annual report of IR to the participants, including the inaugural issue, submissions, manuscript handling, Special Issues, and promotion policy. The development and progress of IR in 2021 were shown in specific data, figures, and tables, which are contributed by the support of the Editorial Board Members.

Professor Simon X. Yang also reported the development plan of the journal in 2022 from the following aspects: publishing plan, promotion policy, citation, Special Issue, conference cooperation, etc. Professor Jinhua She, Professor Ying Wang, Professor Hicham Chaoui, Professor Chaomin Luo, and other Associate Editors proposed their suggestions for the following year. Also, they expressed that they would continue support the journal’s development.

In the second part, OAE Publisher Lijun Jin made a brief introduction of the peer-review policy of the journal. Jin stressed that IR is a strictly peer-reviewed journal, the selection of reviewers and the qualified review reports are both crucial in the peer review process. Jin’s views were strongly supported by Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors. They all agreed that IR should follow the rigorous peer review process, as the initial aim of IR is dedicated to high-quality academic publishing and to promoting scientific innovation and development.

At the ending of the meeting, Professor Simon X. Yang made a short conclusion about this meeting and expressed his gratitude to all of the participants.

This is the first Editorial Board meeting in 2021 and one of the most momentous meetings to IR. We believe that IR will be in fast growth in the near future with the guidance and support of the Editorial Board Members.
